A Short Trip In the WABAC Machine

When I woke this morning and stretched into the day, I realized this very long, very cold winter was receding into memory, that summer will arrive, as it always has, and the red-winged blackbirds will return.

As a reminder of what is to come, I played the youtube video created by my friend, JB, using photographs I'd taken of this beautiful land I'm honored to call home. While playing it, I noticed another video on the sidebar that looked like fun. And it was. It's a short trip in the WABAC machine. What a wonderful moment between two great artists in their prime. I thought you might enjoy it, too. Linda and Johnny:

And, here is the original post and video:

    1. Thank you, Nancy! No, not endless, it just seemed that way at the time ... :) What a difference a day makes, in my thought and in life.

  3. That picture is stunning, and the journey in the WABAC Machine was so very poignant. 1969! That was a long time ago. Thanks for sharing this moment with me. :-)

    1. Thank you, Jan. I am so looking forward to their return. In 1969, I wore a similar dress and when I sat down was not sitting on any part of the dress ... :) Those were the days, my friend ... oh, lordy, such a long time ago ...

  4. I am sooo ready for spring! The tundra swans arrived a few weeks ago on their yearly migration, always a joy to see! :-)

    1. Li! So good to hear from you ... those swans must have been a very welcome sight. I'm hoping the pelicans will return to the river yet this spring, despite the weather ... we shall see ... but my head's above water, the frozen kind, and it feels good.

  5. Lovely post and really enjoyed the wabac machine. Funny seeing Johnny's ruffles... I can see why it brought tears. Nice.

    1. The ruffles ... it reminds me of Seinfeld's puffy shirt episode ... :)

  6. I am so glad you shared that wonderful video and song. Two of the all-time greats, at their prime as you say. I'm reminded of why Linda made my teenage heart throb in those days.

    1. They usually arrive with the last snow in spring and stick around for most of the summer ... I have a marsh down the road and the river ... lots of good places for them to be here ... they come to the feeder every day ... I love their company.

  8. The red wings have been singing here, Teresa, so they should be arriving where you are soon.
What a lovely tune to carry me back through the years (yes, I, too wore my dresses that short, my hair that long, though didn't wear those big hoops).

And, I still wear my hair long, large hoops sometimes ... old habits die hard ... :)

  9. It'll be a while until the red wings reappear here but this post gives me hope! Winter, more than waning now, still can be seen far an wide as evidenced by the snow and ice. Loved the video done by JB of your place. Very poignant.

It's a good video to return to as a reminder of all I have to be grateful for in my life.
