I'm Next Door

If you're looking for me, I'm probably next door, at my micropoetry blog. Everything there gets winnowed down, reduced to the moment, or even the essence of the moment. It's been a cold winter ... hope you all are staying safe and warm.

  1. Dear Teresa, an unseasonably cold winter here too in western Missouri. We had 11 inches of snow on Tuesday and a wind chill of -20 on Thursday night. Now both of these figures are mute when confronted what you've had up in Minnesota, but for down here, this breaks a 1924 record. Take care. Delve deep. Write heart. Peace.

  4. I'm so glad you posted this. I'd been wondering if you were well, or suffering cabin fever and withdrawn, or whatever. I subscribed to you receive new posts from the other blog by email, which I really like best. The confirmation email was a little strange. It said I had subscribed to "Bayou something something", but I deleted it before my brain caught up and wondered about it.

In any event, I'll know to keep an eye on it now, and if there's any problem I'll resubscribe.

And yes, even we on the Gulf Coast have HAD IT! Gray and cold and sleet and hail and even snow a hundred miles inland. Of course it's not like yours, but our places aren't built for it, either. When there's a north wind and 40 degrees, I'm sitting here with a blanket around me. When it hit the 20s, even the plants got to come in. ;)

  7. I just can't get enough winter. I love the challenge of the elements. Tracking, ice fishing, snow plowing, and wandering in the woods all bring out the best. Still, I appreciate those waiting for spring. It'll come without a doubt and soon enough. Without winter spring would not seem nearly as glorious. I'll celebrate that too!

    1. I don't mind the snow and brief periods of cold are okay ... but it has been well below zero sometimes days on end and being outside not possible due to frostbite ... that I do have a problem with ... I need to get warm and there is no real change for a while.... Brrrrr :)
