The Falling Leaves Drift By the Window....
Tomorrow, very early in the morning, we will experience an equinox, "equal night," then quietly move into autumn. For me, nothing says 'autumn' like this song and no one sings it better than Nat King Cole.
Sweet and mellow...Nat King Cole perfectly sums it up. Reminiscing about the days the kids would carefully pull the eggs out of the refrigerator and try standing them on end during equinox. Thanks for the enjoyable music and reminder.
Huh. Linda has a point, but I'm too tired to think about it. The equinox will, coincidentally, bring us warmer temps after a cool dark damp spell, and I'm looking forward to that. Meanwhile, thanks for the song!
I've always liked that song too. Today it really seems to fit: we have a big box elder tree outside our living room window and it has just begun to drop yellow leaves which float past the window.
Lovely video. Fall moves us forward and Nat's voice takes us back. Perfect balance for the perfectly balanced day. I have the day off and yearn to go in search of some fall color sightings but must wait. Soon. Happy weekend lass, Chris

Oh, I need to add: Marilyn, yes, we are reminded that it's also spring I love knowing that these seasons are different elsewhere on our planet. I find it comforting.
Funny, I was just thinking of this song and Nat King Cole as we drove up to MN to visit with our daughter and her family and noted the change in color the further north we traveled.

Been humming the tune since yesterday. I have a nice Eric Clapton recording where he does the song well.It has always been a charming song for me.
