She Was Someone's Little Girl

  1. Indeed she was, someone's talented little girl. Such a waste of life - such a waste of a life.

  2. I agree, Alan, a talented little girl. What might have been....

  3. Teresa, such a wonderful tribute to Amy Winehouse you've done here. This makes me cry whereas everything else that has been said makes me angry with people.
Someone's little girl indeed and more than likely only a little girl inside.

  4. Life comes and goes. We are all hanging on to a string. Some strings are still long and some are getting short. There should not be a pair of scissors near the string. It is unfortunate.

  5. Came here through Linda... so it's all her fault...

Your heading is what I always think when something like this happens...

    She was someone's little girl...

The husband of a good friend died in an air place crash this morning... he was someone's husband... someone's Dad... and he won't come home tonight...

It's nice to relate things back to a more personal level...

    Nice post...

  7. Some people cannot handle fame, and Amy seemed to be one of those people. I shall miss her, even though she was only a voice to me, it was a powerful one. Thank you for reminding me of her as a little girl...

  8. Sad to think of it in those terms, when I look into her eyes I see my little girls.

  13. That really is all that needed saying.

  14. Excellent tribute. Her father's comments that I read this morning, possible a eulogy, were very touching.

PS. You are right about the "boots" photo I posted today; I had the same reaction. I think you'll like this earlier post better: http://tiny.cc/omiug

  15. She was indeed. Her father made that clear in the final line of his eulogy.

  16. So young...so sad. Life can be so hard that it leads to death. I'm sorry she was alone when she died.

  17. Not being a follower of contemporary music, I really haven't a clue who Amy was/is. But her death was sad, and, yes, she was somebody's little girl. As were many of those who died in a Norwegian camp, recently.

  18. Each time I see a "burned-out" adult, whatever that means, I have the same thought. I loved teaching seventh grade kids and that is my frame for people like Amy. What would a better word here or there have done for her? We still demonize mentally ill people or simply push them aside as "strange". The Catcher in the Rye image I have of myself has driven my life's choices and I wish my path had allowed me to teach these kids until I dropped dead at 110. You have a gift, Miss Evangeline.

  19. Cletis, Thank you for sharing your kind words here. They are deeply appreciated.

I want to thank all those who offered a positive word about Miss Winehouse. I believe everyone should be remembered for their better moments, for the gifts they brought to us.

  20. She had a voice like an angel, her time was short..It is so gut wrenching to lose a child, I have only one child if something happened to her, I would want to go toooooo, her familia loved her dearly and the world too, she was here just a very short time, perhaps the good Lord or whatever one thinks of the divine needed her in heaven more...there was this site with Ben Breedlove the young man who had a born into heart condition who was on utube who never spoke a word but had cards that he shared what happened to him 4 times with a I believe you call it near death experience, he was not afraid to go, white lights, it is a beautiful tribute to the young man, he passed right after doing it, I believe he is an angel in heaven no more pain, the same for Amy, her music will be with us for many many many many moments, concentrating on the good of a human life enriches all our lives, peace to you Teresa for posting this, she was indeed someone's little girl and a wonderful sweet angel and a voice of an angel too, rest in peace...also peace to you in 2012!

  21. Thank you so much for reading and commenting. In listening to her beautiful voice, one was able, if really listening, to see inside her beautiful soul. The difficulties a person goes through in life does not define them: "concentrating on the good of a human life enriches all of our lives. " Exactly so.

I will look into Ben Breedlove. What an intriguing name for the person you've described....

    Peace to you, as well.
